Authentic American Frontier, Victorian Era, Civil War & Old West period spectacle frames in modern sizes
The 1830 through 1840 time period heralded a change in the fledgling American spectacle manufacturing industry. Earlier round and oval shaped spectacle styles of heavy iron, steel and silver fell from favor as thinner, lighter-weight oval, octagon and oblong shaped styles began to gain in popularity and dominate the market.
The models selected are authentic reproductions of spectacles styles that were readily available and in common use during the 1835-1900 time period.
Our Spectacle frames are Ophthalmic quality, prescription ready, historically accurate models of original antique spectacles. They are designed to accommodate both prescription and nonprescription lenses of any power or correction, suitable for reading, distance, bifocals, progressive lenses, sunglasses and nonprescription colored lenses.
